The 28th Annual Kindergarten Conference
Naturally Equipped to Learn:
The Importance of Playfulness, Curiosity, and Well-Being
A Focus on Children Ages 4, 5, & 6
We are thrilled to bring Dr. Peter Gray to Vermont, a native son of Cabot schools and internationally-recognized play expert, to share his research as well as research from across the globe on the critical role of play in children’s lives. We believe Peter’s message is particularly relevant during these days in which we find ourselves faced with the necessity of recognizing and addressing children’s holistic well-being as central to their intellectual engagement and school success. Please join us as we think together about how to build on what has been a year of challenges to create a world of possibilities.
Dr. Gray’s keynote will be followed by a variety of two-hour workshops. Some of the options include:
- Planning and supporting outdoor learning
- Enhancing storytelling with puppets
- Engaging young children in mathematics
- Fostering problem solving
- Media literacy
See here for a description of each of the workshops
This conference brings together kindergarten and primary level teachers, prekindergarten teachers, school and program administrators, pre-service teachers, and teacher educators to explore evidence-based practices, discuss issues, learn from each other, and become rejuvenated.
